What we do

A full-service publisher.

Most presses hand you a box of books. We take the manuscript through editorial, production, a national launch, and onto shelves — then report and pay out on what sells.

Book development

Contracting, manuscript review, developmental & copy editing, back-of-book indexing, interior formatting, cover design, ISBN, and a first physical print sample.

Mass production

Full press run at a 1,000-copy MOQ. High-grade paper, thread-sewn or perfect binding, gloss/matt lamination, batch-tested for a zero defect rate.

Book launch

Venue sourcing and stage branding, VIP invitations, press releases, media bookings, and an on-site sales and author signing desk.

Distribution

Ghana's major bookshops plus Amazon US/UK and online storefronts — on a transparent revenue-share model with half-yearly royalty reporting.

Packages

Three ways to publish.

Every package carries a book from manuscript to finished copy. The tier sets how much editorial and design attention it receives along the way.

Prices are quoted at signing. Manuscripts over 50,000 words carry a proportionate uplift — confirmed in writing before any work begins.

How pricing works

No fixed menu, because no two books are alike. Every quote is built from what your manuscript actually needs — and you see it in writing before anything starts.

  1. You pick a tier, we quote the manuscript

The quote reflects your tier and the size of the work — longer manuscripts take proportionately more editing, indexing and layout.

  2. Production and launch

Printing is quoted on stock, binding and run size; the launch is scoped to the event you actually want. You take only what you need.

  3. Distribution earns as it sells

Distribution is arranged across the bookshops and online channels that suit your title. No upfront fee — an agreed share of sales, with statements showing units sold and royalties paid on a regular schedule.

Good to know: quotes are issued in USD and settled in cedis at the prevailing rate, and each stage is settled before it begins — nothing is billed in arrears.

About us

Where Africa’s story goes on record.

DigiBooks Ghana Ltd. is a second-generation family publishing house, founded in 2006 by Fred Awuku Labi and Ama Labi in Sakumono, Tema. For two decades we have turned manuscripts into books of national consequence — the memoirs of statesmen, the biographies of nation-builders, and the scholarship that shapes how Africa understands itself.

With more than 80 publications to our name, our catalogue reads like a chronicle of Ghana’s public life. Notable titles include Kwamena Ahwoi’s Working with Rawlings, General Acheampong, Death of an Empire, and What I Choose to Remember. Each reflects the same conviction — that African stories deserve world-class production, and that the knowledge of one generation should be made simple, beautiful, and permanent for the next.

Today, the founding family’s second generation carries the house forward: same editorial rigour, new digital reach.
